To close the gap between the production of official statistics and their practical impact, development partners and funders need a better understanding of the barriers that NSOs face in disseminating data and increasing their use. A two-part research project on NSO data use was presented at the World Data Forum by AidData, PARIS21 and Open Data Watch One part of the project seeks to understand perceptions of data use through snap polls in NSOs and government ministries. The other part looks at ways to measure and respond to actual data use on NSO websites. At ODW, we are convinced that these two parts combine to provide a holistic, timely and replicable understanding of how NSOs can move forward to both benefit from and contribute to the Data Revolution.
