With the guidance of the Statistical Commission, and the support of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (HLG), in close consultation with member states and international partners, will be leading the discussion on the organization of the UN World Data Forum. The first United Nations World Data Forum will be hosted by Statistics South Africa in Cape Town, South Africa in January 2017. Integrating Big Data into M&E of Development Programmes

UN Global Pulse and The Rockefeller Foundation will host a half-day event marking the launch of the ‘Integrating Big Data into the Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Programmes’ Report. The Report outlines the opportunities around using data analytics for development monitoring and evaluation and proposes an approach to incorporating new sources of data, methods and technologies into current M&E practices. The event will kick off with a summary presentation on the findings of the Report, and invite participation from the audience to share current approaches used in their organizations for integrating big data into the M&E of development programmes.
