A capacity building program on the Framework for the Development of Environment Statistics has been launched by the African Centre for Statistics of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa jointly with the United Nations Statistics Division and the United Nations Environment Programme. Environmental sustainability is recognized as one of the three pillars that are critically linked to well-being of human in the global sustainable development agenda. The environmental issues are urgent and increasingly aggravating in Africa.
