Organized by the Instituto Nacional de Estadistica e Informatica (Peru), Instituto Nacional de Estadistica y Geografia (Mexico), UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and Centro de Excelencia para Informacion Estadistica de Gobierno, Seguridad Publica, Victimizacion y Justicia, the Fourth International Conference on Governance, Security and Justice Statistics seeks to promote dialogue among the actors involved in the production and use of statistical information on crime and criminal justice, in order to increase availability, quality, the relevance and use of said data to improve the analysis and formulation of public policies. This discussion space is precisely part of the vision contained in the road map for the improvement of crime statistics at national and international level, jointly approved by the United Nations Statistical Commission and the United Nations Commission on Prevention of Crime and Criminal Justice.
