The objective of the first meeting of the Regional Steering Group is to review its mandate and identify priority issues and specific modalities to advance the Implementation Plan of the Regional Strategy to Improve Population and Social Statistics in Asia and the Pacific endorsed by the Committee on Statistics of ESCAP at its fifth session in December 2016.
