Navigating the Politics of Open Data
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is driving an increased focus on measurement. This includes work to strengthen data collection and develop approaches that offer new insights.
Disaggregated data is vital to understanding how progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is translating into improved lives. However, the insights made possible by disaggregated data and new measurement approaches can also create uncertainties for stakeholders. Managing uncertainties and sensitivities, including privacy, can support more quality data being made publicly available and accessible to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.
This high-level event brings together individuals playing key roles within government, multilateral organisations and civil society to share approaches, issues, and opportunities based on their experience and expertise. Dialogue and discussion with knowledgeable participants will surface wider insights and strategies from diverse contexts.
