Centering Women’s Voices: Citizen Data for Protection and Justice (CSW 2026)

This side event at the 2026 CSW NGO Forum will explore how Citizen Data can strengthen efforts to address violence against women and other groups, including marginalized people within LGBTQIA+ communities, and improve access to justice. It will present the work of the Collaborative on Citizen Data and its dedicated gender data working group, highlighting practical examples of the power of CD to surface hidden forms of violence, support service delivery, and inform policy responses. The session will showcase approaches from civil society organizations and examples of collaborations with official statistical systems, and discuss opportunities to integrate citizen data into national and global gender data systems.
