Civil registration, vital statistics and legal identity in poly-crisis: Lessons learned

Part of the 2024 Canadian Conference on Global Health, this virtual session led by the IDRC will focus on “Civil Registration, Vital Statistics and Legal Identity in Poly-Crisis: Lessons Learned.” Chaired by Sana Naffa, the session will examine the role of universal legal identity in sustainable development, addressing the unregistered births, deaths, and marriages that contribute to the “scandal of invisibility. Presentations will highlight initiatives in Colombia, Indonesia, Guatemala, Uganda, and Ghana, showcasing efforts to enhance legal identity and visibility for disadvantaged populations.
