Africa Gender Data Network Webinar Series: Building a case for disaggregated data

The purpose of this webinar is to share best practices and success stories in support of national statistical offices to mainstream data disaggregation in their program.

Filling gender data gaps and producing more and better disaggregated data presents a unique set of challenges that often falls on national statistical offices, particularly on the gender data focal points or champions within those offices. Meeting this demand for multiple disaggregations is not an easy task and will take ingenuity and creativity to complete. It also requires strong gender data mechanisms inside government that can effectively advocate for their activities and secure the resources to fulfill their goals. This is why skills such as strategic planning, teamwork and communication skills are increasingly recognized as equally important across statistical organisations just as technical one are.
