DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this webinar is to share best practices and success stories in support of national statistical offices to mainstream data disaggregation in their program. \nFilling gender data gaps and producing more and better disaggregated data presents a unique set of challenges that often falls on national statistical offices\, particularly on the gender data focal points or champions within those offices. Meeting this demand for multiple disaggregations is not an easy task and will take ingenuity and creativity to complete. It also requires strong gender data mechanisms inside government that can effectively advocate for their activities and secure the resources to fulfill their goals. This is why skills such as strategic planning\, teamwork and communication skills are increasingly recognized as equally important across statistical organisations just as technical one are.

SUMMARY:The Impact of COVID-19 on National Statistical Offices: Accelerating Innovation
DESCRIPTION:As with all activities\, data collection by National Statistical Offices (NSO) was disrupted by the quarantine measures undertaken in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact was particularly felt in those activities that rely on face-to-face interviews\, such as household surveys and censuses. \nThe abruptness of the quarantine measures meant that changes in data collection efforts had to be done quickly and that new approaches and data sources had to be tried. This seminar will present the experience of NSOs in the use of new data collection methods and data sources to continue with their regular flows of statistics and to satisfy new demands for information.
