Susan is a public health specialist with over 25 years of experience working on improving the effectiveness of population health and nutrition programs and policy at the World Bank, including maternal and child health and HIV/AIDS. She led the World Bank’s Results Secretariat, where she was responsible for the Bank’s Results Agenda, implementation of the results measurement system for IDA, and integration of a results focus in global discussions on aid effectiveness. Susan authored a major evaluation of the Bank’s work in the health sector, Investing in Health: Development Effectiveness in the Health, Nutrition, and Population Sector, and guided the production of three Sourcebooks on Managing for Results documenting country experiences. She is currently working as an advocate for improving the coverage of civil registration and vital registration efforts, she advises agencies and countries on improving development effectiveness through encouraging the use of evidence of results, and has a longstanding interest in systems for amplifying citizen voice through feedback on the quality and reach of service delivery programs.
