Building a Strong Community of Innovative and Forward Looking Leaders in Official Statistics

The International Statistical Institute, in collaboration with the African Development Bank, have organized this workshop with the overarching objective to build a strong community of innovative and visionary leaders in official statistics who will be able to take advantage of the data revolution and respond to the demands of the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda. The Workshop will focus on enhancing the leadership and managerial skills of top managers and will offer a platform for exchanging the best practices and innovations amongst peers. October saw meetings all over the world reinforce support for data-driven solutions and strong statistical capacity. June 2019

In early June, ODW was in Vancouver for “Women Deliver 2019” – the largest gender equality conference with over 8,000 attendees – to advocate for a strong focus on gender data and CRVS. June also saw the launch of PARIS21’s “Statistical Capacity Development Outlook Report” and SDSN’s “2019 Africa SDG Index.” End-June saw many groups preparing for the upcoming high-level political forum in New York City.
